Emma Stone stars in a truly raunchy new TV series – just in time get her in the mood to play a “horny legend” in her latest film Poor Things.
Her new show, The Curse, is a dark comedy following married couple Asher and Whitney, who are embarking on filming a reality show called Flipanthropy. The show-within-a-show follows them around renovating houses while giving back to the community.
Emma plays Whitney in the new show, alongside Nathan Fielder as Asher – and it features some true hide-behind-your-hands scenes. Away from the house flipping scenes, there are plenty of X-rated moments, including copious references to Asher’s micropenis.

His father-in-law even takes him into the vegetable garden to share that he too has a small member, after placing a tiny carrot on his daughter’s plate – an in-joke the giggling wife insists is “not funny”. If it’s not creepy enough that she’s discussed the size of her husband’s manhood with her own parents, buckle up, because things are about to get weirder.
Taking Asher under his wing, her dad Paul tells him: “People are a lot like tomatoes. You have your big old beefsteaks.. and you got your little tiny cherries. They’re very different, but once you slice up a cherry and you put it in a sandwich, it tastes great. Once you put it between the bread, it’s all the same.”
He goes on: “Be humiliated. Embrace it. You say it once. You say it to a complete stranger. ‘Hello, I’ve got a small penis.’ You think they’re going to laugh at you, but they’re going to laugh with you because life’s a f***ing joke.”
Paul tells his son-in-law that Whitney has “no issue” with the size of his member, before telling him: “Be the clown. It’s the most liberating thing in the world. It’s like f***ing with a 10-inch c**k.”
Thankfully, both Paul and Asher’s micropenises are prosthetics, and not real. In full-frontal scenes, Asher is viewed urinating for an uncomfortable length of time as the camera zooms in on his fake genitals.
It gets raunchier from there. Later, Emma’s character Whitney calls Asher in for some time between the sheets, which results in him using a vibrator on her in lieu of using his member – and she calls out another man’s name. In awkward scenes, Asher asks the imaginary ‘Steven’ if he’s allowed to join in sex with his wife, only to be told “not yet”.
Finally, when his turn arrives, Asher instead tells Whitney: “I want to watch you finish with him”, and takes care of himself as the pair roll into bed together.

It all comes ahead of the mainstream release of Emma Stone’s movie Poor Things, in which Emma “couldn’t shy away” from saucy scenes. Director Yorgos Lanthimos explained that the sex scenes within are a “very important part of her journey”.
He went on: “We felt that we shouldn’t shy away from it. It would feel very disingenuous to tell this story about this character who is so free and so open, and then be [a] prude about the sexual aspect of it.
“It was clear from the beginning, but also from the novel, from the script, from my discussions with Emma, as well, and how we came up with those scenes. She had to be free; there should be no judgment.”
