Emmerdale star Jay Kontzle has opened up about the moment he learned that his character Billy Fletcher is set to become a dad.
The 32-year-old actor has been part of the ITV soap cast since 2018.
In recent scenes, Billy learned that his wife Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) is expecting their first child together.

Jay has revealed he was made aware of the storyline soon after his real-life Mimi welcome their third child in November last year.
Speaking about Billy’s exciting news, dad-of-three Jay joked: “I felt the show was doing me over to be fair.
“You have two kids and a baby in real life and I get this news and I was like ‘Come on, you’re killing me here’.
“So for me to find out I’m going to go home deal with my kids and come in the next day and work with three other kids and do the same thing.”
However, the actor added that he’s looking forward to the new dynamics as his on-screen family expands.
Jay told Daily Star and other press: “Billy’s always wanted to make sure Dawn is happy moving forward and wants to give Clemmie Reed (Mabel Addison) and Lucas Taylor (Noah Aspinall) the father they never had and have a child of his own.
“Having a family in the show. is that kind of sustainability and the next step would be for Billy and Dawn to get a house [as they’re currently living in Home Farm].
“In terms of dynamics and story development it’s a great move for the character.
“Mabel and Noah, who play Clemmie and Lucas, are really good and fun to work with and do a great job, so we’re kind of blessed in that area.”
Lucas is Dawn’s son and half-brother of Clemmie and Billy adopted Lucas earlier this year.
Clemmie is the daughter of Dawn’s late friend Beth and she and Billy were granted special guardianship of the youngster in March.
Things take a drastic turn for the family in upcoming scenes as Clemmie runs away after learning about Dawn’s pregnancy.
The youngster finds out about the baby after Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) accidentally shares the news.
A distraught Clemmie lets herself out of the back door of Home Farm and disappears into the night.
Fans will have to wait and see if Dawn and Billy manage to find the school girl before its too late.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
