Emmerdale star Jessie Elland revealed Chloe Harris was only meant to appear in a few episodes of the ITV soap before the character was made permanent.
The actress made her ITV debut in August 2021 and was introduced as the sister of Sarah Sugden’s (Katie Hill) heart donor.
After a brief exit, Chloe returned as part of a new storyline which saw her revealed to be the biological daughter of Kerry Wyatt, played by Laura Norton.

Opening up on her time on the soap so far, Jessie admitted she feels “very lucky” to have landed the role.
“I have to pinch myself everyday. I’ve been very, very lucky,” she told Daily Star and other press.
“It was only meant to be a short period at first for the heart story and then Laura (Norton) came back into it so I came back for that. Then it just kept getting more and more.”
The star added: “I had a family, then I was in the village, then I was pregnant so it really snowballed.”
Touching upon the possible introduction of Chloe’s dad, Jessie said she would love to explore that part of her character in more detail.
“I think that would be such an interesting avenue to explore because the great thing about the part was that there was so much backstory to it, so it would be really great to explore that further,” she agreed.
Despite the character originally being introduced as a guest role, Jessie has now found herself at the centre of a major storyline following Chloe’s one-night stand with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) which resulted in her pregnancy.
On the day of Mack and Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) wedding, Chloe gave birth to baby Reuben and is heading for more heartbreak as she is told her newborn has meningitis.
While dealing with her son’s deteriorating health, Chloe will find herself in the midst of another struggle as Charity will soon learn that Mack is Reuben’s father.
