Emmerdale fans were left perplexed during the latest episode after a group of new teenagers appeared on the show.

On Friday night (January 6), April Windsor threw a party at her home with Arthur Thomas and Cathy and Heath Hope also in attendance.

As things got going, more teens showed up who also went to the children’s school.

Despite things beginning to heat up on screen, viewers were left confused with all the new faces in one scene and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: “Who are these bratty kids?”

Another penned: “Turning into Byker Grove with all these kids.”

A third said: “A couple of little trouble makers gonna get April in grief.”

Meanwhile a fourth fumed: “Why do soaps insist on making all their storylines revolve around kids? Stopped watching #Corrie because of this, will be stopping #Emmerdale soon too the way it’s going. It’s like Grange Hill.”

As the party got underway, Arthur seemed to gravitate to a boy called Marshall who also attended his school.

Fans were confused by the new members on the show

Arthur, who recently came out, was happy to speak to Marshall as they both seemed to share similar interests.

Continuing their conversation outside, Marshall quizzed Arthur on how much he liked him.

But things quickly turned sour when the other boys appeared to be filming the lads conversation from upstairs.

Throwing money outside the window, it was evident that Arthur was being set up and Marshall was only showing interest due to a bet that previously took place without Arthur’s knowledge.

Arthur’s intimate moment was interrupted

Clearly upset by the revelation, Arthur ran away crying while Marshall appeared to show some regret.

Jumping back onto Twitter, viewers were not impressed with what took place and aired their hurt and annoyance.

One viewer said: “Poor Arthur. It’s such a f*****g vulnerable feeling.”

Another wrote: “Doesn’t matter what Arthur done in the past. He’s fragile and vulnerable having just come out to his family. He didn’t deserve to get used like that it was cruel.”

“That was awful!!! Poor Arthur #emmerdale should be ashamed of that storyline teens have a hard enough time coming out at school as it is show Arthur some love and tell the audience it’s ok,” a third slammed.
