Emmerdale fans floored by Laurel star's real age as she celebrates milestone birthday

Emmerdale fans have been left shocked by Laurel Thomas star Charlotte Bellamy’s real age as she celebrates her birthday.

The actress has played the character in the ITV soap since 2002.

Last week, on March 19, Charlotte celebrated her big day as she turned 50, despite looking extremely youthful.

Many fans rushed to wish her well, with many writing in a Facebook group dedicated to Emmerdale lovers.

One viewer shared a snap of the TV star and wrote: “Happy 50th birthday to the legend that is Charlotte Bellamy (aka Laurel Thomas).

A second added: “Looking good, definitely don’t look 50. Happy birthday Charlotte”, while a third penned: “Wow 50? Looking good”.

Others posted: “You are 50 years young”, “Happy birthday you look great”, and “You look amazing for it! Happy birthday”.

Over the years, Laurel has been caught up in the centre of some big storylines, including her alcohol struggles and losing her husband Ashley.

In recent episodes, Laurel has jumped to the defence of her son Arthur, who was bullied for being gay by his friend Marshall’s dad.

This comes after the soap revealed it is currently gearing up for a return of a major villain.

Killer Carl King’s son Thomas is set to make a fiery return to the show in April, after being away from the soap for a decade.

During his last stint on the show, Thomas terrorised locals after his dad’s death, which included stalking a terrified Chas Dingle.

Thomas, who was last played by Mark Flanagan, will now be played by newcomer James Chase.

Ten years ago, Thomas also seduced a young Belle Dingle and persuaded her to run away with him – though changed his mind and left without her to go to Saudi Arabia to meet his mum.

A source told The Sun: “Tom’s return is going to be explosive. He shocks his uncle Jimmy when he returns to the village and it’s not clear why he’s back.

“Fans will be glued to their screens watching Tom’s comeback unfold — and his presence could cause chaos.

“They will all be asking if he’s as evil as his dad Carl and wondering why he’s returned.”
