Emmerdale fans outraged as they 'work out' Jai's sinister game plan in Arthur twist

Emmerdale viewers were left fuming when they were left convinced Jai has an ulterior motive over Arthur’s sexuality.

The teen was left disappointed after learning someone had called the school to cancel his planned LGBTQ assembly and had a heart to heart about the let down with Leyla and Jai.

However, Jai’s responses led to Arthur pointing the finger at him for placing the call – and viewers were in agreement that he must be to blame.

Taking to Twitter viewers aired their concerns as they agreed with the idea that Jai wasn’t being genuine in his support for Arthur.

One wrote: “Let me guess we’re about to find out it was Jai who put the brakes on the school assembly Arthur was going to give!”

A second asked: “Is Jai a secret homophobe?”

Another viewer added: “Does Jai do anything right he’s a pointless character in the village.”

A fourth social media user said: “I think Jai could be the one to complain to the school.”

Another fan observed: “Does Jai’s kid go to the same school as Arthur? Is he trying to stop Archie from seeing someone openly gay?”

However, later in the show, a second name was thrown into the hat by viewers for who may have been responsible for getting the assembly cancelled.

Arthur was let down when his LGBTQ assembly was cancelled

As Arthur hid out in the shed after falling out with Jai and Laurel he was joined by none other than his crush Marshall who came to see if he was ok.

As the pair had a heart to heart it became apparent the chemistry was brewing between them – with Marshall apologising for letting the other boys bully Arthur.

As he suggested that they should actually go on a date for real somewhere where nobody would know them so they wouldn’t be seen or interrupted the boys appeared to be getting closer.

Then as Marshall leant in for a kiss with Arthur, the pair were interrupted when his phone started ringing.

Looking down and seeing it was his dad calling him Marshall very quickly made his excuses and left – leaving Arthur hanging and viewers believing it was Marshall’s dad who had made the complaint.

One wrote: “Change of theory after the end of the episode scene-Was it Marshall’s Dad who put the breaks on Arthur’s assembly! Either way it’s between him and Jai!”

A second speculated: “Guessing by Marshall’s reaction to his dad phoning him when he was with Arthur I reckon it was his dad is homophobic and is the one who phoned the school not Jai?”

A third said: “I’d say Arthur owes Jai an apology & it was Marshall’s dad that called the school.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
