Emmerdale fans were full of praise during the latest instalment of the ITV soap as the events unfolded following Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) discovery about Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland).
During Friday’s episode (May 12), Charity confronted her husband after she realised he was the father of Chloe’s baby, Reuben.
In the dramatic scenes, the long-running character lashed out at the Scotsman as she attempted to process his betrayal.

In the midst of the chaos, Charity discovered that her granddaughter, Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), knew about Mack’s infidelity all along.
And Charity was dealt yet another blow when she learned that Sarah lied about being ill to prevent Mack from telling her the truth.
While fans were quick to praise Emma, 41, and Lawrence, 31, on their incredible performances, others turned their attention to 20-year-old Katie.
“Katie Hill is also incredible tonight,” wrote one viewer as another shared: “Can we just say aside from Emma and Lawrence, what a star Katie Hill is.”
A third fan added: “I might critise it when it’s bad but that was very good acting from Lawrence, Emma & Katie.”
“Only first half off #emmerdale and I’m done Emma, Katie and Lawrence amazing,” penned someone else.
Viewers couldn’t let the opportunity go without mentioning Emma’s stellar performance, with many believing she should win an award for the episode.
One person wrote: “Emma Atkins deserves a Best Serial Drama Performance nomination after her brilliant performance in tonight’s #Emmerdale.”
“Emma Atkins is amazing as Charity hope she wins a Soap Award!” exclaimed another fan.
Echoing this, a third viewer said: “Emma Atkins deserves all the awards in the world!”
Previously discussing the episode, Lawrence told Daily Star and other publications: “When it all comes out, hopefully we’ve done it justice but I don’t think it’s ever been done in soap before, what we did.”
Recalling the filming process of the dramatic scenes, Emma revealed it was around 18 pages long and broke the barriers of a typical soap filming.
The mum-of-one said: “It just breaks a few of the boundaries of normal soap filming.
“A normal scene is usually four or five pages and that’s a big scene. This was like 17 or 18 pages, so it’s a continuation and it’s the unravelling.”
“We had a blast filming it,” Lawrence added as Emma admitted: “It was pretty exhausting as well.”
