Emmerdale icon Ben Freeman has reportedly landed a major new Hollywood role – more than 10 years since he left the Dales.
The actor, 43, played hunky heartthrob Scott Windsor on the long-running ITV soap between 1998 and 2007.
And it’s fair to say he caused a huge stir in the famous village, and among fans, with several steamy and dramatic storylines.

He embarked on a shocking affair with his stepsister Kelly and fathered Zoe Tate’s child before fleeing in disgrace.
But now, more than 10 years since he said goodbye to Emmerdale, it’s been reported that Ben is set to take America by storm with a huge new role on a hit TV show.
According to reports, Ben will play Corporal Woodbine in the new series of time-travelling show Outlander.
A source told The Sun: “It’s a great role and fans will be delighted to see him in the show.
“Ben’s done a lot of stage work recently and his fans will love seeing him back on screens,” the insider added to the publication.
After leaving the soap in 2007, Ben landed a series of parts at the West End, including Warner in Legally Blonde: The Musical, Fiyero in Wicked and Prince in Romeo and Juliet.
In 2019, he returned to the soap world though playing a small part on BBC’s Birmingham-based daytime soap Doctors.
He also bagged a role on Emmerdale’s rival soap EastEnders in 2021 with a stint as the villainous Caleb.
Earlier this year, fans thought Scott could make a return to the village after Emmerdale dropped a major hint.
As viewers will know, his younger sister Cathy started suffering with mental illness, so Scott stepped in off-screen and invited her to live with him in the Lake District.
She took her big brother up on his offer, and decided to leave her family to go and stay with him.
Soap bosses have confirmed that she will return to the village – but the news left fans wondering if Scott will come with her.
