Emmerdale star Karen Blick used crystal healing therapy to help her cope while filming the soap’s new rape storyline.
The actress had to do a series of harrowing scenes for the hard-hitting plot which will see her character Lydia Dingle get attacked by ex-boyfriend Craig Reed (Ben Addis).
She says the technique helped her.

Karen told Daily Star and other press: “I’ve got a lovely friend who’s a crystal healing therapist and she contacted me a couple of weeks before we started filming and said, ‘Can I help you? Can I help you look after your energy?’.
“I’m really open minded about things like this and I thought, ’Well it can’t hurt, can it? I’ll give it a go’
“She gave me some crystals to kind of carry around with me to keep in my dressing room.
“I found it was a useful ritual to absorb some of the negative energy and some of the thoughts, feelings, emotions around this story.”
It wasn’t just crystal healing therapy that helped the soap star as she also used a string of other methods to deal with the challenge of filming such dark scenes.
Karen added: “On the advice of professionals that I’ve spoken to, I had some hypnotherapy, I started a daily yoga practice so I could kind of get rid of anything that might have been physically staying with me at the end of the day.
