Emmerdale star Lewis Cope has teased that Nicky Milligan could end up in prison after it was revealed he was responsible for attacking his dad Caleb Milligan (Will Ash).
Fans of the ITV soap are aware that Nicky tried to kill his own dad after the bombshell twist was revealed during Tuesday’s (June 20) episode.
While it remains to be seen if Caleb will survive the accident, actor Lewis is convinced that his character is still redeemable.

Speaking to Daily Star and other press, the soap newcomer said: “I think from the moment he pushed Caleb he felt massive regret but also a mix of relief because he’s felt as though his dad has betrayed him for so long.
“He still loves his dad and it would be tragic if he was to die.
“If they find out it’s Nicky he could go to prison but I think if they didn’t find out there could be relief there as well.”
He continued: “I think it’s definitely redeemable because the lies are not Nicky’s lies, they’ve been fed to him by his dad.
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), Mackenize Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) were all suspects in the attempted murder case after the village bad boy was recently pushed off a ravine.
However, after plenty of speculation, Nicky has finally been unmasked as Caleb’s attacker.
“I did actually know Nicky was going to be the culprit. I was excited to see how it was going to be shot,” Lewis said.
“We haven’t learned a massive amount of Nicky’s background but I don’t think he’s a massively aggressive person.
“I think everyone has got the capacity, depending on the situation they’re in, to do anything. Maybe he could do it again.”
Despite Nicky trying to bump him off, Lewis hopes that Caleb will be able to build a father and son bond with him in the future.

He explained: “I’d like to think they could resolve it but probably from Caleb’s part Nicky has not only messed up his whole plan of getting Home Farm and some money back but he’s also tried to kill him.
“So there’s a mountain to climb before he can forgive me, if he survives.”
