Emmerdale ‘s Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) recently had his life turned upside down after discovering he was adopted at birth.
After Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) was confronted about the adoption certificate, he explained to Jai that his mother had a one-night stand with an unknown man shortly before they met.
While Rishi has continued to try and make amends with his son, Jai has remained distant and determined to find out who his real father is, not believing the explanation his father gave him.

During Wednesday’s instalment (July 12) of the ITV soap, Jai updated his cousin Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) on what had happened and revealed his father would not be invited to his wedding if he continues to lie.
As tension continues to mount within the Sharma family, fans have taken to social media to theorise about Jai’s mysterious biological father and other members of his family.

While Rishi remains adamant he is unaware of Jai’s biological father’s identity, fans suspect something more sinister could be at bay which is why he is refusing to tell Jai the truth.
Speculating why he was really adopted, viewers have theorised that his mother, Georgia Sharma (originally played by Trudie Goodwin), may have been assaulted which resulted in her pregnancy.

“I think that Jai’s mum was attacked and that’s how she conceived him #Emmerdale,” wrote one person as a second shared: “I think it will be something like he’s a result of a sexual assault”.
Someone else agreed: “That’s my guess too – mostly to knock Jai down a peg because of how angry he is at this. Whatever the news is, he’ll be so shocked and then guilty for being angry and the audience will sympathise with Rishi.”
Another echoed: “There has to be some god awful reason why Rishi has never told Jay. Like rape or something equally as awful.”

Newcomer Suni made quite the entrance on Tuesday (July 11) as viewers watched Rishi’s nephew scramble around for a key hidden under a plant pot in a yellow hoodie and a blue denim jacket.
Rishi was understandably concerned when he saw the hooded figure walk around his home, screaming: “Who is it? Show me your face or I’ll call the police.”
When Suni revealed himself to be Rishi’s nephew, the family relaxed and Laurel decided against calling the cops.
Immediately after his arrival, viewers began speculating about Suni’s dad suggesting he had an affair with Georgia and will turn out to be Jai’s biological father.
As the dramatic scenes unfolded, fans flooded to Twitter to share their predictions online.
One user penned: “The new character will end up being Jai’s half brother and Rishi’s brother Jai’s real dad…. #Emmerdale.”
Another agreed: “Who else thinks that Jai’s biological father is his cousin Suni’s dad?”
“So this is the new Sharma is it-How long do we give it before he and Jai are revealed as brothers rather than cousins?! #emmerdale,” echoed a third fan.
A fourth wrote: “So, Jai’s biological dad is going to turn out to be the dad of this cousin who’s just shown up?”
While someone else declared: “The new character will end up being Jai’s half brother and Rishi’s brother Jai’s real dad.”
Manpreet link
While Rishi has insisted that Georgia is Jai’s biological mother, that hasn’t stopped fans from sharing their own thoughts on the subject.
With doubt constantly creeping into fans’ minds, they now believe that Jai might not be Georgia’s son after all – and his biological mother could be a lot closer to home than he thinks.
Voicing their wild theories, some fans believe Rishi’s ex-wife Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) could be Jai’s real mum as she was aware of Jai’s true parentage before he was.
One fan questioned on Reddit: “Is Manpreet old enough to be his real mum? Feels like a twist that they could throw in there.”
While a viewer over on Twitter theorised: “In #Emmerdale am I the only one thinking Manpreet could be Jai’s biological mum? Weird that Rishi told her and could be lying about more than just his dad…”
“Jai just didn’t listen to Rishi he said Manpreet had known for years, was he trying to tell him something?? Is she his mum?,” asked another viewer.
“I think Manpreet is his mum!” a fourth exclaimed, as someone else echoed: “Is Manpreet really Jai’s mum?!”
