Emmerdale hunk Lewis Cope is being bombarded with mucky messages from fans.
He has become a pin-up since he joined the ITV soap as Nicky Milligan last year and some viewers are so keen to get his attention, they send him stuff that leaves him stunned. Lewis told Daily Star: “I get a lot of messages from fans on social media. Instagram is a bit wild.
“I get messages and pictures that are a bit different to what you’d expect. They’re not things I’d show my mum. I get everything. Some of them are topless photos. I’ve even had people say, ‘Will you marry me?’. But I don’t think it’s a proper proposal.”

Lewis isn’t looking for admirers because he’s happily coupled up with girlfriend Rachel Maya Lopez. But he insists he isn’t bothered by the flirty messages. He added: “It’s funny. I don’t mind. I don’t find it irritating or anything like that, I’m not easily embarrassed. But I don’t reply to any of them.”
When fans see Lewis in real life, they’re not quite so saucy. He said: “It’s always lovely when I get recognised. I’m always surprised when someone shouts my name and asks for photos with me. I appreciate fans who watch the show. I love it.”
Lewis recently opened up about his real-life bond with his on-screen ex-fiancé Rosie Bentham, who plays Gabby Thomas. Nicky was tasked with tricking Gabby into marrying him when he arrived in the village although he eventually came clean after getting cold feet and it was revealed that he had a boyfriend the whole time.
When asked who he gets on best with on set, Lewis previously told Digital Spy: “I’d probably say Rosie Bentham, because from the beginning and for my first six months we’ve basically been working together every day.” Despite their history, Lewis said he has high hopes that Nicky and Gabby will eventually become friends, saying: “I think they do get on. The problem is, the circumstances and the manipulation.

“I think it would take a lot for her to forgive Nicky. He’s tried the whole excuse of, ‘It wasn’t me, it was my dad. I was forced’ – but she wasn’t buying that at all. Maybe Nicky would have to rescue her from drowning or something.”
Lewis also revealed he’s close with his on-screen dad William Ash, who playus Caleb Milligan calling him “super helpful and absolutely brilliant”.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm
