One star of new Fox reality show Farmer Wants a Wife confessed his longest relationship wasn’t with a woman at all.
Hunter Grayson is a cattle and horse rancher from the state of Georgia in the US, and one of the four men lining up to find a wife on the dating show.
He’s joined by Allen Foster, Ryan Black and Landon Heaton.

The foursome are looking for love among a group of girls hailing from the city on the new show.
But he confessed his longest ever relationship, like most farmers, has been with ‘Mother Nature’ – and admitted she’s “tough to date”.

Opening up to The US Sun, the star said: “We’ve been in a relationship with Mother Nature a whole lot longer than we’ve been in relationships with other people.
“She’s a tough one to date but we have to navigate those waters.”
The star added that it can be “hard to accept” that nature is “cruel”, explaining: “When things don’t go well, it’s tough on us and it’s tough on the whole family.
“Those are things when you share a partnership with somebody, you share those good times but you also share those burdens.”

The farmers were quick to remind potential suitors that it’s “not all rainbows and glitters and buttercups” as a rancher – as they have to deal with animal death on a regular basis.
But Ryan Black thinks those ups and downs can inspire strength in a relationship.
Meanwhile, Hunter shared the “biggest challenge” when it comes to the dating show with Newsweek, explaining: “When the ladies showed up on the [farm], on paper, it sounds like a great idea, but when you’re dating all these women at one time, you know that’s not something that I’m not, nor should I, ever be comfortable with, you know.

“If I was comfortable with that I would question my own, you know, moral compass. I think that was the biggest challenge for me, that was when I was like, oh, this is the real point.”
The new Fox reality series is based on the UK show of the same name, which sees a bachelor farmer choose a love interest from a pool of 10 women.
Though one US series aired back in 2008, the series is making a comeback this year with Sugarland vocalist Jennifer Nettles as host.
