Actress Jacklyn Zeman has died aged 70 as fans share heartfelt tributes.
The American soap star found fame after starring as nurse Bobbie Spencer is the hit daytime series General Hospital where she appeared in more than 800 episodes.
Her death was announced on Twitter by the show’s executive producer, Frank Valentini.

Additional details about Jacklyn’s passing have not yet been announced.
“On behalf of our @GeneralHospital family, I am heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved @JackieZeman. Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work,” executive producer Frank penned.

Adding: “Jackie will be greatly missed, but her positive spirit will always live on with our cast and crew. We send our heartfelt sympathyto her loved ones, friends, and family, especially her daughters Cassidy and Lacey.”
Jacklyn first joined the ABC show in 1977 and, following her acting career, has secured five-time Daytime Emmy nominees, four for her role in General Hospital and one for starring in The Bay as Sofia Madison.

Even though she joined the soap in the 70s, Jacklyn made several other TV appearances on shows like The New Mike Hammer, Sledge Hammer! and Chicago Hope.
Following the news of her passing, her co-stars at General Hospital and fans have penned heartfelt tributes online.
“Incredibly stunned and broken-hearted to hear of Jackie’s passing,” said former General Hospital star Rick Springfield (Dr Noah Drake) in a statement.
One viewer of the show penned on Twitter: “I am heartbroken by this news #JackieZeman was an #Icon & and an Inspiration to us forever #SoapOpera fanatics Goodnight #BobbieSpencer May you #RestInPeace.”

A second heartbroken fan penned: “I am so very shocked and heartbroken. I loved her and her character Barbara Jean Spencer (Bobbie). I’m lucky I’ve met her, she was a lovely, sweet woman. Sending prayers and condolences to her friends, co-workers, family and especially her two daughters. May she rest in peace!
She is survived by her two daughters.
