Gladiators Jet star opened up about a horrific injury she got while on the show.
Jet, real name Diane Youdale, said she was left terrified after suffering a neck injury.
Speaking on behalf of ICE 36 to Metro Diane explained: “It was a bit scary, I won’t lie, until we got to grips with knowing what we were doing.
“As soon as we saw the first edit of what they were going to release as the first show, it was like, oh my gosh, it looks really good and they’ve made us look really good as well!”
After four and a half years of being a fan fave on the show, Diane realised it was time for her career as Jet to conclude.
In 1996, the 90s sex symbol suffered a clash with a contestant where she heard her neck “crack”.
“My accident was on Pyramid, and I remember I had a contender – who I have met since then – who was a bit bigger, stronger and faster than me.
“And I pushed off the pyramid with her, they like these aerial tackles because it’s good car crash TV, and I just remember landing here and my bottom was there and she was almost on top of me.
“The impact of that hyperextension of the spine and her, and then I quickly flipped because I heard a crack.”
As well as injuries, Diane also had a relationship from the show and dated her co-star Hunter – James Crossley.
Previously talking to the Daily Star, she revealed: “James and I were together for a year and it was after I left that we kind of split up.”
“I think he was 19 and I was like 21.
“I mean I’m being a cougar at 21 but we remained good friends ever since and it was after I’d left the show that I think he got together with Ulrika”.
“I have to admit, I think that Ulrika is one of the funniest women I’ve ever met.
“She is super bright, super self-evasive.
“Brave I think, too. She just sort of has this Swedish courage thing going on.”
