GMB fans share new 'nickname' for Kate Garraway but co-star says could 'cause problems'

Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway revealed she “loves” a new name given by viewers.

The ITV star featured on the breakfast show alongside Ben Shephard on Thursday (March 9), where they discussed the cold weather and road conditions.

The pair were talking to a reporter who was at a gritting truck station and the three debated naming a truck.

Ben then read out a viewer’s message and said: “We have got a suggestion for that exact gritter – it’s come from Jeanette – how about the lovely Kate Gritt-away on such a snowy morning?

“That’s what we need – if amongst the gritting, can write Kate Gritt-away and have an official naming ceremony, that would thoroughly put a smile on everyone’s face.”

Kate laughed: “Funny how someone came up with the idea of gritty and Garraway being a good connection – Kate Gritt-away, I’d love that.”

Ben then added: ” It might cause more problems than it solves though, from my experience.”

Host Ben also replied to the viewer’s message on Twitter and said: “Someone please mate this happen!! #kategrittaway”

Though another fan rudely responded: “How about “Ben S***inhard to get rid of this Snow”

This comes after GMB host Richard Madeley jokingly threatened to storm off the TV set days before.

This was due to co-host Susanna Reid claiming he looked identical to a Ken doll.

On (March 7), they spoke to space scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock after she was honoured with a Barbie doll in her resemblance.

Susanna then confessed she’d love to have a doll made of her, with Richard agreeing.

Susanna then quipped: “To be fair Richard, you do look like the spitting image of Ken.”

However, Richard didn’t take the quip too well and replied: “Oh get lost! Okay, I’m out of here,” before he added: “There’s only so much I can… being likened to a plastic [doll], come on!”
