It’s been over twenty years since Welsh group Goldie Lookin Chain first burst onto the music scene thanks to their trackie tops, bling and hilarious tunes.
Known for classics like Guns Don’t Kill People, Rappers Do and Your Missus Is A Nutter, the eight-man comedic group bagged countless hits back in the early noughties – as well as a cult following.
The Welsh gang have also gone to tour the globe performing their songs to audiences of adoring fans – while cracking them all up at the same time.

Fast forward to now, and while the band is still going strong – they recently dropped their latest single Football Football Football last year – there is one integral member that has walked away from the spotlight all together.
It appears that Maggot, real name Andrew Major, has decided that life in the limelight isn’t for him.
22 years later and the former music star looks worlds away from the bling-wearing, vest-wearing lad that once rapped about how “your mother’s got a penis.”
What’s more, Maggot has swapped spitting beats and performing to sell-out crowds for a completely different career too.
So as Maggot turns 47 on Monday (May 1) Daily Star is taking a deep dive into where the former Goldie Lookin’ Chain member is now.
Ditching fame
Despite scoring a slew of top 20 albums and five top 40 hits as part of Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Maggot has now taken a rather different career path.
Following his stint in the Newport group, Andrew did dabble in the world of showbiz though.
He appeared on Celebrity Big Brother back in 2006 where he reached the final – finishing in third place behind Michael Barrymore and winner Chantelle Houghton.
But then in 2018, he decided to leave the limelight all together and head out to bag himself a “normal” job.
‘Normal’ job
In 2018, it was reported that Andrew was working as a financial advisor for United Commercial Finance – and he got the job immediately.
His new boss Joe Patrick revealed: “Within a few minutes of meeting Andrew, I forgot about his entertainment stuff, and thought that he would make a brilliant finance broker.
“Business-minded, instantly likeable and intelligent, he was also someone with exactly the sort of integrity that we adore.”
And it turns out Andrew isn’t completely new to the business. The ex-music star previously trained in the finance sector and has over 20 years of experience.
Smart new look
As part of his new career venture into the finance world, Maggot, or Andrew as he’s most likely referred to these days, has swapped his tracksuits for rather snazzy suits.
Long gone are the trackie tops, bottoms, chains and caps, and instead, Andrew is looking dapper than ever in smart suits – teamed with his naturally grey hair and beard.
He look unrecognisable with his suave new style, much more like a city lad than a rapper.
