A US court has been told how a 76-year-old man’s traumatic brain injury could not have “plausibly” been caused by him crashing into Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow on a Utah ski slope.
Terry Sanderson, 76, is suing Ms Paltrow for $300,000 (£245,000) as he claims she left him with brain damage and several broken ribs after “slamming” into him from behind at the Deer Valley ski resort.
The retired optometrist also alleges that the Oscar-winning actress “bolted” from the scene without saying a word.

Ms Paltrow, 50, rejects the accusations, which her lawyer dismissed as “utter BS”.
Furthermore, her legal team have told the Park City jury that it was in fact Mr Sanderson who crashed into her – an impact that she has described as a “full body blow”.
The Shakespeare In Love star is counter-suing Mr Sanderson for $1 (£0.81), arguing that he has exaggerated his injuries and is attempting to exploit her wealth and fame.
But Dr Wendell Gibby – the radiologist who examined Mr Sanderson following the crash – has stated that the plaintiff would have tried to protect himself if he had collided with Ms Paltrow head on.
He said: “I think it’s very unlikely that this would have been caused by Terry running into Gwyneth Paltrow.

“I don’t think it would be plausible that if he were running into her he would have broken the ribs on the side of his chest – he likely would have had his arms extended, he would have protected himself.
“Had he been the person running into her, I don’t think he would have sustained these types of injuries.”
In Utah law, the skier who is further downhill should be granted right of way.
Both Ms Paltrow and Mr Sanderson argue that they were lower down the slope when the other person rammed into them, causing their skis to intertwine and the pair to crash.
