She balanced out the splash of colour by opting for teal blue earrings and a similar jewel-toned ring.
Heidi also paired the incredible gown with a pair of strappy gold heels that matched the yellow perfectly.
However, some fans were divided by the blonde beauty’s look and compared her to a “yellow bird.”
Fans flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on Heidi’s “unusual” gown.
One person wrote: “What in the hell? And I do like Heidi Klum, doesn’t mean sometimes people’s fashion is a little off.”
A different follower said. “Almost every questionable look I have seen tonight was at the Elton John party this is just … “
However, some people loved the look with one person writing: “I can’t hate it because she always makes every event fun. Gorgeous bird vibes.”
It comes after Heidi shocked fans by stripping down completely naked for a video in bed with her boyfriend Tom Kaulitz.
The 49-year-old supermodel could be seen snuggled under a brown woollen blanket alongside Tom, 33, in their shared bed, wearing nothing but a pair of blue aviator glasses as she sipped from a glass mug of what looked to be herbal tea.
Heidi’s bed-rumpled blonde hair was pushed back from her face and fell in loose curls past her shoulders as she grinned for the camera next to an equally naked Tom.
