She first shot to stardom in Coronation Street back in 2002 when she took on her now infamous role of Katy Harris.
During her time on the ITV cobbles, actress Lucy-Jo Hudson found herself at the centre of one of the show’s most-talked about storylines.
Her character struck up a relationship with Martin Platt who was 20 years her senior. Her character later went on to kill her father after he convinced her to abort Martin’s child in a dramatic soap exit.

Now, the brunette beauty has returned to Soapland, this time in Hollyoaks when she joined the show now tackling the character of Donna-Marie back in 2018.
But it’s fair to say actress Lucy-Jo Hudson looks worlds away from her 2002 Weatherfield character, with the TV star now glowing with fans forced to do a double take after her staggering weight loss.
As Lucy-Jo says goodbye to the Channel 4 village after five years on the soap, Daily Star has taken a deep dive inside her weight loss journey over the years.
Wedding confession
The actress has always been fit and healthy after she trained as a professional dancer before she found herself in the world of acting.
But she really decided to shed the pounds ahead of her big wedding to her Corrie co-star Alan Halsall.
The former flames first locked eyes on set back in 2002, before they made the decision to tie the knot seven years later.
In the build up to their wedding day, Lucy made it her mission to lose weight so that she could “look her best” for the big day.
At the time, she told Daily Mail: “I lost weight because every bride wants to look their best, so I started looking after my health more.
“I started exercising too and I’ve sort of kept it up. Cardio never seemed to work with me but now I do a lot more resistance work with weights and squats and lunges. I think the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn.”
It’s clear to see all her hard work had paid off after she dropped from a size 14 down to a size eight, shedding an eye-watering two stone.
Transformed diet
But her success wasn’t without some major changes to her diet, with the star completely transforming her eating habits following a diet of mainly “stodge and ready meals”.
She also admitted to frequently snacking during work, but now Lucy-Jo opts for smaller, lighter meals more frequently.
The actress explained: “Now, I’ll eat little and often instead of having big meals. I’ll have six mini meals a day just to keep the metabolism kicking in.”
However, Lucy-Jo made sure to note that she doesn’t deprive herself of a few cheeky treats every once in a while and admitted she still has a massive sweet tooth.
She went on: “I don’t deprive myself – I love chocolate so I have a little bit every day. It helps not being a big drinker too because if I was drinking a lot I would be a lot bigger.”
Healthy workout regime
While Lucy-Jo has successfully managed to keep the weigh off and transform her figure, she’s also been able to maintain a healthier lifestyle long term.
The soap star looked just as incredible after she welcomed her daughter Sienna-Rae back in 2013, proudly showing off her hard work when she got back into shape in no time.
Following her split from Alan five years later, the actress reportedly hired a personal trainer to help with a series of new intense workouts.

At the time, a source told The Mirror: “She was scared her diet and fitness might slip after the breakdown of her marriage and decided to enlist the help of a personal trainer to keep her mind and body healthy.”
Lucy-Jo has since welcomed a gorgeous son with her current partner Lewis Devine back in 2020, with the TV star regularly showing off the tot and her impressive post-baby body online.
