Hollyoaks star Lucy-Jo Hudson has opened up on the future of the Nightingale clan following Juliet’s tragic death.
The fan favourite sadly passed away earlier this month after eight months of cancer treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Her funeral scenes air next week and Lucy-Jo, who plays Juliet’s grieving mum Donna-Marie Quinn, has revealed that the tragedy rips the family apart.

Romeo (Owen Warner) and James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) clash over plans for the service as the latter decides to go against Juliet’s wishes.
Also, Donna-Marie turns to drugs again as she struggles to come to terms with her daughter’s death.

Romeo, Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) and Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) find her lifeless in the gym after overdosing.
Outside the hospital, James is mad that Donna-Marie didn’t speak to anyone if she was feeling low, but Romeo admits his mum called round but he was preoccupied.
Speaking to Daily Star, Lucy-Jo said: “I can only imagine losing someone close in your family that it does one of two things.
“It either brings you closer as a family and you get through it or it literally pulls you a part and sadly for the Nightingales its the latter.”
The Channel 4 soap star went on to explain that viewers will see a massive divide between the family members in coming weeks.
Lucy-Jo continued: “They are all a little bit selfish.
“Romeo is off with his new girlfriend Rayne [Royce, played by Jemma Donovan] and he’s not there for his mum, James has got his own ways and deals with things himself and struggles to bring his new husband Ste [Hay] into it.
“It’s incredibly sad but they’ve all gone their separate ways. When I got the script I was like ‘nooo’.
Teasing whats next for Donna-Marie, she added: “All the stuff I’m getting at the minute is heartbreaking, sad and lonely.
“She’s very lost and isolated and she does go back to her past and turns to drink and drugs.
“She spirals quite rapidly after Juliet’s death and I can’t see a bright future for her just yet.”
Hollyoaks airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm
