Hollywood action star picks ‘easy winner’ in fight between Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan

A Hollywood martial arts star has said there would be one easy winner in a fight between Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan.

It’s a debate that has rumbled on for the 50 years since the passing of the Hong Kong martial arts hero as to who would win between *insert fighter here* and Bruce Lee.

Speaking on VladTV, Michael Jai White told the presenter that if he was a betting man he would side with Jackie Chan for the win due to his size and durability.

As a martial artist in nine different styles, and black belt in seven, White has more than 50 years of experience and has historically backed himself in a fight against the Hong Kong-born superstar.

The Tyson star said based on the sheer size difference, he would win, and said Jackie would also come out on top for the same reason.

He said that the Enter the Dragon star would struggle against a professional fighter.

“Bruce Lee was not a fighter, that’s not his skill set,” he said.

“He’s a martial artist, the greatest martial artist who ever lived.

“But he was not a fighter.

“I’m sorry it’s a whole different skill set.

“It’s ugly, you trade blows.

“You see people who are 132lbs fight each other, it’s like Ren and Stimpy.

“They beat the s**t out of each other and nobody falls out.”

He continued: “They hit each other a hundred times in a round, that s**t’s ugly.

“So you can’t tell what’s going to happen.

“It’s just not fair for me to say to a professional fighter, who’s been hit in the head thousands of times, to fight a guy who doesn’t, and say ‘you guys are equal’.”

When probed about who would win in a bout between Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, White sided with Chan.

“I think Jackie Chan would win,” said White.

“If I was a betting man I would say Jackie Chan.”

“He’s not a small guy, and he’s durable, that’s a tough dude.”

“He’s a lot heavier than Bruce Lee and that’s a major difference in the fight game.”

White added that he knows a lot of people who have trained with Bruce, and knew what he was capable of based on what he’d been told.

“There’s so many people who’ve trained with Bruce Lee and sparred with him.

“So I know about his abilities of fighting because these people wouldn’t lie.

“And they love Bruce Lee as well, it just is what it is.

“There were people like Benny Urquidez around.

“Bruce Lee couldn’t fight Benny Urquidez, that would be terrible.

“Benny Urquidez was a badass fighter, like a real fighter who could just walk straight through you.”
