Home and Away Irene star Lynne McGranger’s awkward wardrobe malfunction at Logies

Home and Away star Lynne McGranger suffered a major wardrobe malfunction after the 2023 Logies.

The actress, who is best known for playing Irene Roberts since 1993, attended the Aussie awards with her co-stars and pulled out all the stops in a glamorous green gown.

After a brief appearance at the Logies afterparty, the 70-year-old decided to call it a night and headed back to her hotel room for the evening.

But things weren’t that simple as the soap star realised she had no way of getting her dress off.

“When I got back to the room, I realised I couldn’t undo myself,” she told 7Life. “The top part of my outfit was boned, and I thought, ‘Oh no, s***, what am I going to do?'”

The TV star continued: “I was going to ring our publicist to get someone to come up and undo me, but then I heard someone out in the corridor, and I ran out.

“I saw a door close, and realised it was housekeeping, so I thought, ‘oh that’s good, a lady will help get me out of it!'”

However, it was actually a man and he instantly recognised Lynne from Home and Away.

“But then a guy came out and said, ‘Oh, I know you!,” the mum-of-one explained. “And I said, ‘yeah, well, you’re about to know me a hell of a lot more! Can you unzip this top please?’”

Lynne revealed the man happily obliged, adding: “I mean, I made sure it was in the corridor, so he undid me, I thanked him and he said, ‘I love the show!’

“This was about one o’clock in the morning, mind you.”

At this year’s Logies, which took place on July 30, Lynne was up for the Silver Logie for Most Popular actress alongside her co-stars Ada Nicodemou and Emily Symons.

Unfortunately for the soap stars, it was Kitty Flanagan who scooped the best actress gong for her role in ABC’s Fisk.
