Hugh Grant looks so unrecognisable in his new film Wonka that fans are “already having nightmares” over his new look.
The British heartthrob is set to star alongside Timothée Chalamet in the remake of the classic Roald Dahl book, which has already been done twice in movie form.
The first iteration of Wonka was the classic Gene Wilder, before Johnny Depp took on the role in 2005.

And now the fresh take on the film has dropped its first trailer, with Hugh Grant dressed as an Oompa Loompa chocolate factory worker.
In the trailer, Grant wears a bright green wig curled into the classic Oompa Loompa quiff, adding a purple tartan jacket and a white shirt underneath.
He also rocks the classic orange-tinted skin and bright white eyebrows – and a bizarre CGI rendering has left his head too large for his body.
He’s also tiny – and tells Wonka in the trailer as he begins to dance, bending at the waist: “Too late. I’ve started dancing now. Once we’ve started, we can’t stop.”
Fans are certain that Grant will be paying them a special visit in their dreams soon enough, and took to social media to share their thoughts – and fears.
One penned: “…Huh, that looks quite a bit better than I feared. Although Hugh Grant Oompa Loompa is likely gonna give me nightmares.”
Someone else begged: “Why is Hugh Grant an Oompa Loompa?!”
As somebody else giggled: “I am actually obsessed with Hugh Grant as an Oompa Loompa, it just makes so much sense.”
Another said: “This Wonka movie is horror, just for Hugh Grant as a f***ing Oompa Loompa.”

The new film isn’t just a rehash of the original – it’s actually a Willy Wonka origin story.
It follows how the chocolatier first met the Oompa Loompas in the jungle before becoming that murderous jokester we all know and love.
Its official synopsis promises: “An origin story that explores the vivid, mythical beginnings of the imaginative young inventor before he becomes the renowned scrumdiddlyumptious Mozart of chocolate.”
Along with Timothée and Hugh, Olivia Colman will also be turning up on the big screen, alongside Rowan Atkinson, Matt Lucas and Sally Hawkins.
