A former Nickelodeon child star who ditched acting for a career as a Playboy model has revealed her mum is so supportive of her new venture she even helps her pick out the raunchy outfits she poses in.
Madisyn Shipman is best known for playing Kenzie Bell on Nickelodeon’s show Game Shakers from 2015 to 2019. But after getting tired of the strict clothing rules she had to follow to keep up her “wholesome image”, she decided to “reclaim her sexuality” with a new career — teaming up with Playboy to make racy content for its digital platform.
The 20-year-old has since posed for a number of saucy shoots, which have seen her donning the iconic Playboy bunny get-up as well as tiny bikinis. When it came to breaking the news to her mum, Jen Shipman, Madisyn revealed she told her immediately.

But as she “can do no wrong” in her mum’s eyes, she soon had her full support. “She’ll support me even if she doesn’t agree with it, she’ll be there to cheer me on and let me fall and make my mistakes and she’ll help me get back up,” Madisyn told the Daily Mail.
Madisyn’s mum has even gone as far as helping her select the raunchy outfits she wears for the provocative pictures she posts on the Playboy platform. She explained: “She helps me with everything. She’ll help me plan out different outfits and help me take pictures. She’s like, ‘Madisyn, I don’t like that,’ it’s really fun and we’re super open with each other.” But despite her support, Madisyn’s mum still made her “set up some boundaries” that she would “stick to”.
One of them is no full nudity, which Madisyn said she was clear to Playboy about from the start because it’s “just not who she is”. While she’s refused to completely strip off, Madisyn’s controversial career move has still seen her face some backlash from internet trolls.
But her Nickelodeon career saw Madisyn develop a thick skin and she’s learnt to not care about what people outside her family and friends think. She explained: “I’ve had a social media presence since I was 12 years old, there never really was a time that I grew up and I didn’t have people staring at me and trying to nitpick every little thing that I was doing.”
Madisyn revealed some wise advice from her mum has also helped her when it comes to dealing with hate. She added: “My mom had a great philosophy of: ‘Just don’t let it get to you, don’t let it affect you. They’re just saying it because they’re jealous, they’re hurting inside, it’s something to do with them. It’s not because of you’.”
