A Disney child star has claimed the production company “f*** over kids” and said he no longer sees a penny from the popular show he was on.
Joey Bragg was just 17 years old when he was cast in Liv and Maddie, a Disney Channel show that ran for four seasons from 2013 to 2017.
The actor and comedian initially thought he was paid a “good amount of money” but has now slammed the company over how they pay child actors. Disney has not responded to requests for comment.

“They f*** over kids so much,” Joey told the Cash Cuties podcast.
“I’m a firm believer that when you’re a child actor on a Disney Channel show it’s not just the child that is doing the job, it’s also the parent or guardian that has to be with them all the time.”
While other Disney actors came from wealthy backgrounds, Joey’s parents couldn’t afford to take time off work to be with him while he filmed the show so he claims he was forced to move to LA alone.
He also said Disney didn’t pay as much as other networks, claiming he got paid “about a third” of what he got for an ABC sitcom he was in.
According to the actor, he doesn’t get any residuals from Liv and Maddie either.
He explained: “My show was Netflix’s number one watched show when it was on Netflix and then those streaming rights got bought by Disney for millions upon millions upon millions of dollars and the creators, nobody saw any of that money”.
Joey also said Disney has a deal with an actors union to pay the cast and crew less for the first three seasons of shows but claimed they use a loophole to make sure they don’t have to increase the pay.
“By the third season, even if the show’s popular, they reboot it as a brand new show so we were Liv and Maddie for the first three seasons and then the last season was Liv and Maddie Cali Style,” he claimed.
He claimed they have “very smart lawyers over there in the Micky Mouse Club House.”
The Daily Star has reached out to Disney but they did not respond to our requests for comment.
