I’m A Celeb Gillian McKeith’s ‘Poo Lady’ career causes problems for daughter’s love life

The daughters of I’m A Celebrity star Gillian McKeith have spoken of the torment their mum’s ‘Poo Lady’ past has caused them in the wake of her being the first to be evicted from the ‘all stars’ series alongside Shaun Ryder.

Skylar, 28, and Afton, 23, revealed they have both been affected by the career path of 63-year old Gillian, who lasted just five days in the South African jungle before exiting on Friday.

The pair, who also hit back at claims their mum is Britain’s most annoying celebrity, suffered in very different ways.

Skylar told the Mirror that she was bullied in school due to her mum’s passion for studying the brown stuff on Channel 5’s ‘You Are What You Eat’.

“I was at secondary school in London and I had people shouting down the hallway, ‘Skylar, I saw your mum sniffing poo on TV last night’,” she explained.

Now a lawyer, she continued: “They were horrible and made fun of me. I really struggled. One day, a boy pushed me against a wall and held a lighter to my face. I was like, ‘I’m done’, and was home-schooled for a bit.”

Her little sister, however, explained that she has suffered more in her adult life rather than in the playground.

Afton, who is an actress and lives in Texas in the US added: “I get nervous dating men from England as they know my mum from TV. I stopped going out with them because it was too weird.”

The pair clearly don’t hold a grudge against their mother though, and were more than happy for her to return to the limelight last week.

“Mum sat my sister and I down after and asked if we were OK with what she was doing. We told her she had our full support,” Afton said.

“People have got her wrong – she’s not an irritating woman. They don’t know the real her… she’s misunderstood and a wonderful mum.”

Co-star Ryder, who has ADHD had previously labelled TV personality Gillian as “a f***ing irritating woman”.

The drama from camp will be back on screens on Monday (May 1), with a previous teaser revealing another celeb would be eliminated in the coming episode.
