I’m A Celeb star says ITV loo ‘burns stars’ eyes due to high levels of ammonia’

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Nicola McLean revealed the “disgusting” reality of the ITV “dunny”.

Nicola, 41, starred on the show back in 2008, in Australia, and said it was “vile”.

She said she would definitely “struggle” with this year’s toilet, as it is open to the elements, without any doors on it.

The stars this year made their own walls with some cladding that was left knocking around.

During an Instagram Live, Nicola told us: “I would struggle, the dunny is never great anyway but at least you’re closed in.

“You’d feel really vulnerable wouldn’t you, it’s disgusting.

“I don’t think there is a flush, it’s just a hole and it goes in a bucket and it’s someone’s job to clean it out.”

Jordan Banjo has volunteered for the “long drop” role this year, which means he will be helping clean out his campmates toilet trips.

Nicola added: “Joe Swash did it in my year, I couldn’t have.

“It makes you popular I suppose because no one wants to do it.”

She continued: “But the ammonia in the toilet makes your eyes water it’s disgusting it’s really bad.

“I can’t cope I hate the toilet things, the ammonia smell, you’d go in there for a wee and your eyes would water, it’s disgusting. It’s really that bad.”

During an episode of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, Helen Flanagan was scared to use the toilet as she could here a creature nearby “squeaking”.

So, she asked campmate Janice Dickinson to talk to her while she was on the loo.

Nicola also praised Helen, 32, for her major turnaround after she has come back to the show to “prove a point”, having failed miserably at the trials last time.

The Page 3 star said: “Ten years later and three kids later, I think she’s going to try her best. Do I think she will be the best a the trials? I’d be shocked, but neither would I. Do I think she would be more hardcore? Yeah, I think she’s going in there to prove a point.”
