I'm A Celeb stars pooing in public as line-up 'risk modesty' with 'open-air' loo

A new feature at the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! South Africa camp has been revealed, according to reports – but it means that the stars could face a “lack of privacy”.

The ITV series will see former I’m A Celeb contestants including Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan, TV icon Carol Vorderman and boxing champion Amir Khan return to compete for the jungle crown in a new location, as the action moves from Australia to South Africa.

However, The Sun reports that the South Africa camp will include new features such as the long drop being based closer to the sleeping and living quarters, as well as an “open-air dunny”.

The “open-air dunny” would mean much less privacy for the celebs, but an ITV source claimed that placing the dunny nearer the camp was a move to keep the stars safe.

They told The Sun: “We’re not just dealing with spiders and snakes here, there are real, man-eating wild animals in South Africa so the dunny is much closer to camp than in Australia.

“We just couldn’t have the A-listers roaming the dangerous bush in the night.

“So it’s a lot closer to camp which has its highs and lows – there is zero privacy, it’s totally open to the elements and for the women especially, left their modesty at risk.”

Daily Star has reached out to ITV for comment.

The source also claimed that there will be “no holds barred” in I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, as the series introduces new challenges not yet seen in the show’s 21-year history.

This includes a challenge where the celebs will have to walk the plank and balance big red balls – all while they are suspended 2,760ft in the air.

The new I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! spin-off, dubbed “all stars”, begins on ITV1 and ITVX on April 24, 2023, with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly returning as hosts.

The full cast for I’m a Celeb South Africa was announced earlier this year, with Helen, Carol and Amir joined by music legend Shaun Ryder, Olympic Athlete Fatima Whitbread, supermodel Janice Dickinson, Diversity Dancer and DJ Jordan Banjo, former Royal butler Paul Burrell and ex-England cricketer Phil Tufnell.
