I’m A Celeb star Marvin Humes is best known for being in boyband JLS – but some fans might not know how it all started for him.
In 2008, Marvin shot to fame on X Factor with his JLS bandmates Aston Merrygold, JB Gill and Oritse Williams. Though this wasn’t the singer’s first rodeo.
Marvin was actually once in a band called VS – which was managed by boyband legend and Blue star Simon Webbe. Daily Star columnist Nicola McLean revealed the first time she met Marvin he was still in VS.

Nicola told Daily Star: “I’ve met Marvin Humes, he is such a nice guy. I knew him years ago when he was in a band managed by Simon Webbe. Simon used to live below my best friend’s apartment. Yeah, so before I went in the jungle myself, I met Marvin, I didn’t know him really well but it was before Marvin was in JLS.
“Marvin was always working hard to do what he does now but he’s always remained lovely,” she added. Marvin’s music career began in the band which was formed by Blue member Simon Webbe but shortly after being formed and releasing an album, they split ways.
Nicola also predicted that Marvin is getting ready to join ITV’s This Morning. She stated: “I’m sure he’ll be presenting This Morning after this, that’s probably what the plan is, to get him on there and make everyone love him. And then they’ll be the double act on the sofa together, him and Rochelle.
“She is a favourite on there already and I think it’ll be good to have another couple on there obviously. I can’t see why else Marvin would have done I’m A Celeb.
“They don’t need the money. They’re absolutely minted. He’s already smashing it with JLS and is back on tour with them. He’s got his own stuff going on with his DJing.
“He doesn’t need to do the jungle, the only reason why you need to do the jungle is for money or climbing the fame ladder. That’s the only two reasons unless you are a massive fan of it.
“I can’t see any other reason why Marvin would have done it, other than they just wanted to bring in more of a primetime audience on TV. And then he will be 100% sent in on This Morning.”
“But then I didn’t have anything to lose. I went in there and was myself and I was brilliant in there. They need to do that again. They need to take a chance or someone who’s not already present This Morning.”
