Inside Millie Bobby Brown’s life – surprise engagement, health woes and Mark Wright link

Millie Bobby Brown has become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars all by the age of 19.

Most know her as Eleven from the Netflix smash hit, which is set to return for a fourth season this year, but she’s featured in a number of TV shows and films during her nine-year career.

While she keeps her life off-screen mostly private, she gives glimpses into her day-to-day on social media – and she’s dating the son of a rock music legend.

Millie proves a star-studded life isn’t always rosy though, as she’s also gone through a battle with anxiety and lost the hearing in one ear.

Daily Star is taking a look at her life away from the cameras.

Millie Bobby Brown is now engaged to Jake Bongiovi, the son of rock music icon Jon Bon Jovi.

Jacob Hurley Bongiovi is 21 and the duo made their engagement public in April this year.

In a sweet social media post, the actress shared a cosy snap of the pair, alongside the caption: “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all,” adding a white heart emoji.

In the past, Millie also dated England rugby star Jason Robinson’s son Joseph, and social media star Jacob Sartorius.

Huge net worth

Millie made her on-screen debut in 2013, playing Young Alice in two episodes of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

Since then, her stardom has skyrocketed, mainly thanks to her landing the role of supernatural Eleven in Netflix’s Stranger Things.

She’s starred in a number of recent Godzilla films, and starred as the title character in Netflix movie Enola Holmes, for which she was also a producer.

And Millie has featured in music videos from the likes of Drake, Maroon 5 and even Mariah Carey.

With that in mind, there’s no wonder her estimated net worth is $14million (£10.6m).

And much of that is from Stranger Things, as, according to Fox Business, she was earning $350,000 (£258k) per episode in season three – up from $30,000 (£22k) per episode for the first two seasons.

Health battle

Millie was born with partial hearing in one ear, but it faded away completely after a number of years.

The young star doesn’t let it bother her – even though she can never fully hear her own performances.

Speaking of her other passion – music – she told Variety: “I just started to sing, and if I sound bad I don’t care, because I’m just doing what I love.

“You don’t have to be good at singing. You don’t have to be good at dancing or acting. If you like to do it, if you genuinely enjoy doing it, then do it. No one should stop you.”

The starlet has also struggled with anxiety, which has only been worsened by being in the public eye.

She told Glamour UK: “I keep most things private in my life.

“Personally, I struggle with anxiety and in some ways, this has hindered it. When I’m having a bad day or I’m feeling very anxious, some things like when people say, ‘Oh, you looked bad at this award show because you looked like this or you looked like that,’ those things make me a little bit more anxious and that hinders me a little bit more.”

Millie explained that learning to drive as well as dance classes helped keep her anxiety under control during the pandemic.

“I found out I’m nonstop just as a person. I don’t really like to sit still,” she said.

Stranger Things fans got the shock of their lives when it was revealed that Millie is a good family friend of the Wrights of TOWIE fame.

Over the years, Millie has been pictured with Mark Wright and his family a number of times, even heading to iconic Essex eatery Sheesh together.

At the time she wrote on Instagram: “Thank you Sheesh Chigwell for a great night, love the Wright fam too much.”

Mark, who headed to the States to try and break into presenting, has previously described Millie as “like family”, saying he “loves her to bits”.

He said: “Love her dad and her mum, Kelly and Bobby, and her sisters and her brother. Amazing family.

“She’s so down to earth, so incredibly and so talented. I call her the Lionel Messi of the acting world – you can’t teach what she’s got.”

Millie called into Mark’s radio show to promote Enola Holmes back in 2020 and the duo had a chat about home comforts.

He said: “She works so hard but on the other side she’s so normal and so grounded and she’s such sweetheart, and the fact that you love a cup of tea just says it all Mills!”
