ITV Big Brother’s Trish ‘truly sorry’ for vile tweets as she’s banned from Late And Live

Big Brother contestant Trish has released a public apology after her “racist and homophobic” tweets resurfaced forcing ITV to ban her from appearing on Late And Live.

Following her unexpected eviction from the house on Friday night (November 10), Trish, 33, was due to appear on the Big Brother spin-off show on Sunday (November 12). However, according to reports, this is no longer possible due to her old tweets being exposed online.

Since then Trish has deleted her account on X, formerly known as Twitter. But she has now set up a new account to issue a public apology.

In her statement, the ex-housemate said there were “no excuses” for her tweets which date back to 2011. She also said she was “deeply disappointed” in herself.

The statement read: “I’m aware that some very concerning old tweets of mine have resurfaced and I would like to sincerely apologise for the harmful stereotypes I perpetuated and the pain I have caused to the marginalised communities and groups of people mentioned. There are no excuses for the ignorance that I showed and I am deeply disappointed, embarrassed and ashamed that I once made such comments.

“I have come a very long way since by educating myself and being educated by others on the impact and harm these views cause. It is part of the reason why I am so passionate about standing up for others and holding myself to a high standard of responsibility and accountability for my actions.”

The reality star went on to share that she knew that her fans would feel “disappointed” but she was “truly sorry”. She added: “I appreciate the support you’ve all given me on the show and I understand you feel disappointed.

“I know apologies can seem convenient in these circumstances but I mean it from the bottom of my heart; I am truly sorry. I hope it is possible for you to offer me grace and believe that people can change.

“I am committed to being the person I am now, the person you have known me as – someone who speaks up, stands for what they believe in and is always open to growth and accountability. Love Trish.”

As Trish was a contestant on the show, she is still being supported in line with Big Brother’s welfare protocols. A spokesperson for the show told The Sun that they had been made aware of the incident and they were currently looking into Trish’s digital footprint.

Trish’s disturbing tweets used offensive language about gay and Asian people. She also had vile tweets regarding Hitler.
