Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien warns fans Sarah Barlow and Damon Hay’s steamy love triangle is just getting started as her daughter Bethany Platt returns to the cobbles.
Earlier this year, ITV fans watched Sarah and Adam’s marriage break down after she cheated on him with the hunky bad boy. Things soon went from bad to worse when Adam discovered his wife was pregnant with Damon’s baby.
The solicitor soon runs the criminal out of town and it seems as though things between Sarah and Adam will never be repaired. But as families reunite for Christmas, Sarah and Adam start to grow closer after an emotional rollercoaster of a year.

In the new year, several familiar faces move back to Weatherfield and they certainly don’t waste any time before they cause havoc once more. Now, the blonde bombshell, 40, confessed that Sarah is still in love with her ex-husband and would love to have a future with him.

Speaking to Daily Star and other press, Tina explained: “He’s completely out of the blue. I think if she’s honest, there’s probably some unfinished business there.
“There’s going to be a mix of emotions, especially because Adam seems to be thawing and showing some kind of [love]. I think she always thought, ‘Well, he’s divorcing me so that’s that door closed and that’s over’.
“So in the new year he seems to be showing that maybe he has still got feelings for her so I think she’s probably in a very confused place. I think she probably still loves him and I definitely don’t think that door’s closed.”

Just as the pair appear to be warming to each other, Damon arrives back in Weatherfield and quickly reconnects with Sarah. The actress warned fans that things could get messy between them once again.
Tina admitted: “I think Damon’s got this way of getting under her skin. He’s very, very clever at using cheeky answers and humour to disarm her. And she knows that she shouldn’t, but she absolutely is addicted to it. I think she finds him quite addictive.”
As the duo rekindle their romance in the new year, the soap star admitted that fans won’t be the only ones frustrated. She went on: “Calum [Logan] was the biggest mistake of her life so you’d think that she’d see Damon and warning bells would go off. I mean I want to have a word with her.”

When she was asked what her daughter Bethany will think of her new boyfriend, the mum-of-one admitted that it could take a while for her to warm to the hunk. She confessed: “I’m not sure she’ll like Damon. I think she’ll be quite outspoken about the fact that Damon is bad news.
“I think Bethany would probably say, ‘Look, you really messed up a good thing there with Adam’ and Sarah would say, ‘Yeah I know, I absolutely ruined the best thing that ever happened to me’.”
But after getting to know the new man in her life, Tina hinted that Bethany may also end up falling for Damon’s charm like she did with her ex-Callum. The actress explained: “However, when she gets to know him, I wonder if Bethany might end up being charmed by Damon.

“Because Bethany back in the day had a thing for Callum when Sarah was going out with him, so you never know. So I think she would take that advice on board.”
When asked who she thinks is a perfect man for her character, Sarah demanded: “Roll in a new man! I think that if all that stuff hadn’t happened with Adam then I would have said Adam, but I don’t know if they would ever get past the hurt and the betrayal.
“I think Damon ultimately long-term could be very bad news and dangerous for her. Maybe she’s just better off on her own.” Fans will have to stay tuned to see who Sarah will end up with in the end.
