Samantha Fox has opened up on how famous faces should prepare themselves for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
The 57-year-old former glamour model took part in the gruelling ITV reality show back in 2009 alongside the likes of Kim Woodburn, Gino D’campo, Katie Price and Lucy Benjamin and before of heading to the Australian jungle, she signed up for a rigorous boot camp to prepare her for life in the wilderness.
Speaking to Daily Star, Sam said: “Before you go you need to prepare yourself. I went to a boot camp with a lot of mountain climbing, canoeing, base jumping, tree climbing, so I prepared myself mentally then I did boxing training. My boxing trainer would say to me “Remember Sam, nothing is going to kill you.”

She continued: “The first day when we went in me and Gino D’ACampo got the first challenge, we both pulled the short straw so I had to hold a spider in my mouth for 30 seconds. I think because it was the first day, and didn’t have time to think about it, I did it with ease really.
“After that day I was ready for anything but the braver you are at the beginning, you won’t get picked for the challenges. I was like ‘Pick me, pick me’ the first week because you can get bored in the jungle.” It has been 14 years since Sam took part in the show and the pop star says she “doesn’t understand” celebrities who don’t enjoy experience.

She explained: “I remember like it was yesterday, it was one of the best things I’ve ever done. I can’t understand when people say ‘What made me sign up for this programme?’ or not enjoy it because it’s been on ITV for many years. It’s one of the nation’s favourite programmes and many celebrities, like me, we all follow it and love it so we know when we sign up for it, or should know, what we’re signing up for.

“A great way to look at going in the jungle is to fight your fears and take away a wonderful experience which you will never be able to experience again in your life, just enjoy every moment. Although when you’re in there the time goes slow, it’s something you’ll never forget in your life because it is wonderful.
