ITV I’m A Celebrity chaos as camp ‘under attack’ and bosses issue strict warning to stars

The I’m A Celebrity camp is “under attack” and two famous faces have already fallen victim.

It has been invaded by blood-sucking leeches following a downpour of torrential rain earlier this week and campers Sam Thompson and Nick Pickard have both been targeted by these unwelcome guests. The camp was hit by storms last week, creating the perfect environment for a swarm of leeches.

“Sam had a leech attach itself to his foot and Nick had one on his hand – the rain has brought them all out.” a source revealed. The production team has warned the celebs to be extra careful.

“Production has told the celebs to take extra care and be vigilant. Whilst leeches fall off naturally once they’ve drunk their fill, if the celebs are feeling weak, tired and hungry anyway it’s far from ideal. There’s also the risk that the leeches’ entry site can become infected so it’s a big issue,” they told The Sun.

This comes after several snakes had to be removed due to the humid weather attracting more creatures than usual. “We have had a lot of snakes on the site this year, possibly because it has been so humid. We have had pythons, and non-venomous and venomous species.” confirmed Jeremy Douglas, health and safety officer.

“You get small eyed snakes and brown tree snakes predominantly.” Executive producer Laura Woolf added: “We’ve had 15 snake sightings across the site and then we’ve had to identify some venomous ones in camp. It gets worse when the celebs come in because they leave food everywhere. It’s like they don’t realise they’re living in a jungle!”

It comes after GB News presenter Nigel Farage was left less than impressed when he noticed a rat had found their way into camp after a rubbish bag had been left out overnight. In the Bush Telegraph, the politician said: “It all got a bit slack, it all got a bit slovenly, leading to an error which was a food bag being left out overnight, which clearly had been attacked by a vermin of some kind.”

Nigel added in camp: “That wasn’t very clever. Everything else was done apart from that. But it’s our own bloody fault… We just must not ever make that mistake about the rubbish again, that was really bad.” Fred Sirieix replied: “I think everyone was knackered yesterday and then all the rules went out of the window. It was just the emotions were heightened.”
