ITV This Morning fans support The Hairy Bikers as they return amid cancer battle

The Hairy Bikers were inundated with support when they returned to ITV’s This Morning.

Bearded biker chefs Dave Myers and his pal Si King appeared in the studio on Thursday (October 26) to whip up a spicy chili beef crumble. And fans were thrilled to see the pair doing what they do best during Dave’s recovery from cancer.

Dave, 64, went public with his cancer diagnosis back in My 2022. This summer, he explained he’d undergone 30 bouts of chemotherapy over the last year, and he’s still undergoing treatment during his recovery.

Dave recently updated fans after learning to ride his bike again, having been left unable to walk due to the chemotherapy. He said: “It’s been hard but I’m not the only one and I’m getting through it and I’m back at work. I’ve had to learn to walk again and ride my bike again, and to get on my bike again with Kingy in the sunshine brought tears to both our eyes.”

He previously told The Times: “I’m doing all right. It’s a work in progress. We’ve had some hard years but this one’s been… I’ve had 30 lots of chemo, spread over three weeks and then a week off. It’s going the right way.” He added that his doctors think they can turn the last bit of cancer “off with radiotherapy”.
