Katie Price faces backlash over 'animal cruelty' as fans slam fox fur cardigan

Katie Price has been spotted modeling a luxurious £270 fox fur cardigan despite receiving backlash for supporting animal cruelty.

The star was seen wrapping herself in the ankle-length coat that came with a furry hood, even though she had previously promised never to wear fur again.

In February 2021, she apologized for wearing fur in the past and pledged only to wear faux fur after learning about the horrors of the fur industry.

However, the promise didn’t last long, as a fur coat company recently posted a picture of Katie modeling their “exclusive” fox fur and wool jacket.

This move has infuriated animal lovers, who called out the star’s hypocritical behaviour.

Last week, Katie took part in the brand’s Autumn 2023 collection, and in a video, she showed off her “goodies” from the brand.

“Some goodies from Lanes, I can’t wait! Here’s a teaser, look at all this,” she said, revealing a baby pink hat and a fur scarf.

Her 15-year-old daughter Princess was also photographed on the company’s website, but she was seen wearing a fedora instead of fur.

Despite claiming to be an animal lover with her horses, cats, dogs, lizards, and guinea pigs, Katie has been criticized in the past for wearing fluffy sliders made from mink fur.

As a result, one critic wrote, “I really enjoyed following you until I saw your stories today, promoting real fur. Absolutely appalled, I thought you were an animal lover.”

Another commented, “STOP plugging real fur !!!.” While a third person said, “It’s bl***y vile isn’t it!”

In response to the criticism, Katie posted a video on YouTube, apologising for her past behaviour and acknowledging her ignorance on the matter.

She said, “I want to say a massive apology to everyone.

“Over the years, I have accumulated a number of fur clothing which now I DO NOT WEAR.

Like what you see? Then fill your boots…

“I have done my research, and I have seen the cruelty that goes into making these items. I have been so ignorant of the matter, but now I see that this is wrong.”

She added, “I am an animal lover, and I did a post ages ago for this company, which was fur and, yeah, rightly, I got so much s**t for it.

“They made me realise I am actually an animal lover and why do I need to wear real fur when there are really good fake furs out there?”
