Kerry Katona can’t understand ‘what she did wrong’ in viral This Morning interview

Kerry Katona confessed she couldn’t understand what she’d done “wrong” after her infamous 208 interview on This Morning.

Loyal fans of the ITV daytime show will remember the former Atomic Kitten star, 42, appeared on the show to discuss her latest cosmetic surgery.

During the chat, viewers accused the singer of being drunk as they watched her repeatedly slur her words throughout their interview.

The blonde bombshell later revealed her slurred speech was a result of the medication she was on for bipolar disorder.

Now, the mum-of-five has reflected on the incident more than 15 years later when she appeared on Slingo’s Getting Lippy podcast alongside host Emma Conybeare and MailOnline’s Rebecca Lawrence.

Looking back on the event, she stated that she quickly became more known for her “downfalls” than her career achievements.

The TV star explained: “After my This Morning interview you thought I’d killed somebody and I’m just like I don’t understand what it is I’ve done so wrong?

“I’ve had speech therapy and I’ve got a lazy tongue and with my ADHD and way I talk sometimes I don’t pronounce the words properly.

“Then you put in the medication I was on and your speech is slurred and it’s like, ‘Oh she’s this, she’s that’.”

During the interview she was questioned about her slurred speech and asked if she was OK despite her insistence that it was due to her medication.

In the interview, Phillip asked her: “You don’t seem right to me sitting here now, your speech is a bit slurred, how are you feeling now?”

Kerry – who later stated fans saw her be “belittled” by the disgraced host – then insisted that she was absolutely fine and had never been healthier or happier as she explained it was due to her medication.

The singer went on to reveal that she was left feeling suicidal after the backlash to her interview but credited her children with keeping her strong.

Kerry said: “There were three times I actually wanted to take my… I’m gonna cry… but I would never do that to my kids because I feel like that’s where my lack of self-worth came from.

“I was never good enough for my mum. I never wanted my kids to feel like that,” she added.
