Lana Del Rey may have given a hint as to why she started working as a waitress.
Last month she was snapped serving guests at a waffle house in Alabama and then just a few days ago was captured twerking on tables in her outfit.
It might be her way of escapism, and finding inspiration for songs.

Lana revealed: “To escape from myself, I like to sit on a terrace, listen to conversations, take notes on stories that, finally, I’m not involved in.
“People who meet me in restaurants tend to be very young – 12-year-olds.

“Their view of me is so different from the one conveyed by news. These young teenagers seem to understand me better, they don’t judge me. It feels good to be spared from cynicism.”
Lana says music is “an obsession” for her, and it rarely lets her rest.
“I can’t command inspiration. I don’t chase the music, the music chases me. It’s like a little bird who comes to rest on my shoulder. Mostly I’m looking for other things, then the music comes tapping at my door. I can’t leave it alone outside.
“Music is like an obsession for me, it surrounds me, doesn’t give me respite. Like little crabs that come and bite my toes when I try to rest at the beach.”
Working hard is the only way Lana gets any rest: “I’ve a lot in common with vampires. I don’t sleep. For me to get sleepy I have to run a marathon each night.”

Perhaps she’s waitressing simply because she has no other hobbies: “I am unable to paint, draw, do pottery. I even have to call someone to hammer in a nail and hang a picture on the wall. My favourite activity is to be parallel watching TV. I watch for hours. It’s one of the rare moments you can disconnect your brain.”
