Leslie Ash has opened up about losing her mum as she gives an update on her own health.
The talented actress, 63, spoke exclusively to the Daily Star as she promoted this year’s Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.
Ashley has suffered with a number of her own health issues throughout the years and has always been open about her medical issues.

In 2004, the TV star contracted “deadly strain” of the superbug MRSA when an epidural needle came loose when she was in hospital to treat a spinal abscess.
Complications with this left her out of the acting industry and in recovery for 11 years.
Though Leslie has since returned to screens and is now doing “really well” and keeping youthful with the help of her young grandson.
When asked for her own personal health update, she told us: “Oh I’m really well, thanks for asking. Yeah, really well.
“I’ve got a two-year-old grandson. I spend my time running around after him which is such fun.
“Yeah, he is a little bundle of joy, he really is. And, you know, for me and my husband, we’re enjoying every moment of it.”
2023 marks 30 years of Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, in partnership with headline sponsor Standard Life, part of Phoenix Group, following the inaugural event in the 90s – and the charity is celebrating its history with a little help from a selection of much-loved 90s stars including Leslie.
The Men Behaving Badly star revealed that her mother, who died aged 68, suffered from breast cancer at one point in the 70s, so the charity is close to home.
She explained: “My mother had breast cancer in the 70s and I didn’t lose her to breast cancer, I actually lost her to heart failure. But in those days, I mean, there wasn’t a hell of a lot of choices when it comes to how you wanted to manage the recovery.
“There were some horrific treatments, you know, like radiation treatment, which was really painful for her and made all her bones bubble and stuff. It was quite hard. So in that respect, we’ve come a long, long way and we’ve just gotta keep going.
“So when I was asked to get involved this year and the celebration of 30 years, I was delighted to be part of the publicity and get try and get people on board to sign up.
“The thing is that there are so many different places you could do it, and you don’t have to run, you can walk, you can hop, you can walk your dog, you can chat with your mate, but just get involved. It’s just such for such a brilliant cause.”
