Lorraine Kelly was missing from the latest edition of her self-titled ITV talk show.
The 63-year-old presenter was nowhere to be seen on Friday (October 20) morning as Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard crossed over to the programme to find out what was coming up on the show.
Instead, former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin was sitting in Lorraine’s seat and informed Ben, Kate and viewers watching at home on what they can expect. Scottish star Lorraine usually hosts her show Monday to Friday on ITV1 from 9am until 10am.

The broadcaster announced in June 2021 that she would be stepping down from hosting the BBC morning show, 20 years after first joining. Ahead of her last episode on September 15 this same year, Louise shared why she was leaving the show for good. She said at the time that she had begun struggling with the early starts after taking time off to recover from an ankle operation last year.
“In December I’d taken three, four weeks off work because of an ankle operation and I had that period to realise that when I’m not getting up at 3:40am in the morning, I’m doing all sorts of things in the evening that I want to be doing – like just watching telly with my family, doing that kind of family stuff. I think it was coming out of winter into this period that the decision was made.”
Ahead of her last show, Louise’s former co-host Dan Walker shared a tweet celebrating Minchin’s time on BBC Breakfast. “I can’t believe it has come about so quickly [smile-cry emojis],” he wrote. After five-and-a-half years sharing a sofa with this wonderful woman… tomorrow is @louiseminchin’s last day on #BBCBreakfast. I hope you can join us to say ‘goodbye’.”
It comes after Lorraine made a surprising bedroom confession during Wednesday’s (October 18) episode. On the topic of bedsharing, the ITV icon admitted that she sleeps with her two furry friends – her beloved dogs, Ruby and Angus.
While the UK is most definitely a dog-loving nation, many draw the line about pets in bed with you so this confession could divide her loyal following. Lorraine isn’t the only ITV star that likes to snooze with her pooch as Ruth Langsford has previously revealed that her dog Maggie is allowed on her bed.

When Loose Women host Ruth shared a photo with her dog snuggled up on top of the duvet, she wrote: “Lie in with Maggie watching @eammonholmes on the tele!”
