Married At First Sight Australia viewers were left speechless on Wednesday (April 5) after a brutal encounter.
The unconventional dating show is halfway through its latest series – with the famous Friends and Family week currently underway.
However, when it came to Cameron and Lyndall’s turn for their family to meet one another, things took an awkward and brutal turn.

In last week’s episode Lyndall’s mum Kelly-Anne asked Cam to hug Lyndall over a FaceTime call, but as he’s not an affectionate person he walked away.
As a result Lyndall said she was “nervous” for everyone to come together – especially considering Cam’s reaction to the hug.
Prior to the family get-together, Cam said he has moved on from the incident and will try to show more affection in the future.
But he quipped how he mentioned it to his mum Fiona, who in his words “has no filter”.
The two mums then came face to face and things only got worse for the newlyweds.
During their chat, Kelly-Anne apologised for making Cam feel “pressured” to hug Lyndall and said she hoped her apology is the end of the story – but she was mistaken.
Filter-less Fiona chimed in and said while her token apology was nice “you can’t take words back”.
Following the tense chat, viewers flocked to Twitter to call out Cameron’s ‘gaslighting’ mum.
“Cam’s mum is sooooo rude – that was soooo awkward, my toes curled up!!!!” mused one person.
Another added: “Are they really making this much of a fuss over a hug? She’s apologised Cam, just graciously accept.”
“Cams mum! Just bad manners,” raged a third viewer, with someone else penning: “Wow mum! Toxic much?”
“Enter Cam’s gaslighting Mum!!! Apparently apologies are meaningless because you can’t unsay words,” proclaimed a fifth viewer.
Things only got worse when Cam’s mum pulled him aside to make a savage dig at Lyndall, telling him her need for affection is an “insecurity.”
She then quipped: “I think it’s craving for attention.”
Cameron then went and told Lyndall what his mum thinks of her, and she wasn’t too happy with a blazing row escalating causing Cameron to storm out.
But later on, he returned ready to put their differences aside.
“We’re OK and I really want to work through this,” he said, as Lyndall accepted his apology.
