Margot Robbie’s eye-watering Barbie salary revealed – and compared to Ryan Gosling’s

Margot Robbie’s eye-watering Barbie salary has finally been revealed – in comparison to her Ken co-star Ryan Gosling’s.

Margot stars as Stereotypical Barbie in Greta Gerwig’s latest blockbuster, alongside stars including America Ferrera, Will Ferrell and John Cena.

The Australian beauty has come a long way from her humble beginnings in soap opera Neighbours, which she recently reflected back on.

In one scene, Margot’s character Donna Freedman was forced to dress up as a giant cigarette to prevent smoking.

But now she’s donning all pink for the incredible role of Barbie, snorting baby laxatives while playing a drug addict in Babylon, and simulating romps with Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.

Margot Robbie made a whopping amount of money in Barbie

Barbie has so far made a staggering $337million (£276million) at the box office in its opening week, beating rival blockbuster Oppenheimer out of the gate.

The Cillian Murphy period drama earned around $174million (£134million), in comparison.

And Margot has become the highest-paid actress in Hollywood thanks to her latest role.

Variety reports that the 33-year-old was paid $12.5million (£9.6million) for her role, overtaking Millie Bobby Brown, who earned $10million for her role in Enola Holmes 2.

Ken star Ryan Gosling was paid the same wage for his role.

Her latest role brings Margot’s net worth to a whopping $40million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

And acting isn’t the only way Margot brings home the bucks, as she also co-founded production company LuckyChap Entertainment with her husband Tom Ackerley.

Margot became a Chanel brand ambassador in 2018, as well as being the face of various campaigns for Nissan and Calvin Klein.

Ever generous, Margot even paid off her mum’s mortgage for her 60th birthday after finding success in Wolf.

She told CBS Sunday Morning: “Everything I owed my mom, I had it written down. She’d take money out of the, like, house mortgage [to] lend me money.

“So I always knew, I was like, ‘I gotta pay that back.’ And then one day, when I made enough money, I just paid that whole mortgage off completely.”
