Marvel star Jonathan Majors has been found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
On Monday (December 18), a New York jury found the actor, 34, guilty of two misdemeanour charges of domestic assault against his former partner Grace Jabbari. The jury found him not guilty on one count of intentional assault in the third degree and aggravated harassment in the second degree.
His sentencing date will take place on February 6 2024, with the Creed III star facing up to one year in jail. Majors has now been dropped by Marvel and will no longer appear as supervillain Kang the Conqueror in the MCU. It is unknown whether the role will be recast. The high-profile case kicked off after Majors was arrested on March 26.

The night before, the former couple got into an altercation while in an SUV on their way to Majors’ apartment in Chelsea. Jabbari, who is an actress and dancer, testified in court that her ex turned physical after she spotted romantic texts on his phone which said: “Wish I were kissing you right now.”
Jabbari claimed that after grabbing the phone, Majors launched an attack inside the vehicle that left her in “excruciating” pain. When Majors attempted to retrieve his phone, Jabbari told the court how she felt “a hard blow” across her head that left her with bruising and swelling.
She also told the court how he twisted her arm behind her back and squeezed her middle finger until it fractured. The jury heard voice recordings and text messages exchanged between the former couple. In one text, Majors threatened suicide and dissuaded Jabbari from seeking treatment for a head wound.
Majors and Jabbari met on the set of Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and went on to have a two-year relationship. Prosecutor Kelli Galloway claimed that Majors was manipulative and controlling throughout their relationship, which ended after the events of March 25.
She told the jury during her closing statement: “What this really boils down to is four simple words: control, domination, manipulation and abuse. “[Those are the] tactics used by those who commit domestic violence against partners, against Grace.”
In her closing argument, Majors’ lawyer Priya Chaudhry branded Jabbari a “liar”, telling jurors: “This entire case is built on Grace’s lies – and, boy, does Grace lie.” It was believed Majors would testify, but he did not.
When the charges came to light, Majors was dropped by his PR team and management. He was also dropped from a slew of projects, including the feature adaptation of the Walter Mosley novel, The Man in My Basement.
