Michelle Heaton posts shock snaps of when she collapsed and was rushed to hospital

Michelle Heaton has shared shocking photos of the moment she collapsed and was rushed to hospital after falling victim to alcohol addiction.

The singer, 43, part of band Liberty X, took to Instagram to detail her lows last year, after celebrating one year sober last April.

The artist is currently preparing to take part in Dancing On Ice, but two years ago looked in a desperate state in a hospital bed.

She said: “Two years ago this was me… I was admitted to hospital, not for the first or the last time. I had collapsed in active addiction. I left the hospital the next day, I walked over to the off-licence and bought more vodka.

“Seems insane? It is! But it was the only way I knew how to live. So I thought,” adding: “I swore to my peers, family and doctors I was on the mend. I meant it. But my mind of an addict had a different plan.”

Her friends and fans flooded the comment section to congratulate Michelle on her recovery, with EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer, who told her: “Have a wonderful 2023.”

In July, Michelle opened up on how her early menopause at 35 had destroyed her life, after looking back on the lowest point of her alcohol addition when she celebrated her first year of sobriety following her time in rehab.

Speaking about becoming reliant on testosterone injections, she told OK!: “When going through menopause, I found my libido was massively lacking and I had no energy left to do anything.

“I had no ‘oomph’. So my GP recommended testosterone with my oestrogen and, yes, it might have given me a couple more hairs on my chin, but it completely changed my life.

“The injections were easy to become reliant on because of how amazing they made me feel, which I suppose is the same reason I relied on alcohol and drugs later on. They helped me cope.”

Last month, Michelle revealed she had injured her leg, putting her Dancing On Ice appearance at risk.
