Naga Munchetty abruptly ends BBC segment to cut off Charlie after rolling eyes at him

BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty abruptly ended a conversation with her co-star Charlie Stayt during Friday’s edition of the news programme.

The pair had been discussing a new story about the perfect way to boil an egg to ensure your preferences with runniness are met, with Charlie reading the story from the paper.

But Naga appeared to grow bored of the segment as Charlie read snippets about advice to perfectly cook an egg after asking if you should put the egg in cold water and heat the water up or pre-heat the pan.

Naga seemed baffled as Charlie discussed the best way to cook eggs

As Charlie read out the answer, he revealed that Nigella Lawson advised putting the egg into cold, whereas Jamie Oliver said that he preferred to drop the egg into boiling water to cook it properly.

Abruptly cutting off the chat, Naga quickly said: “I’d like to read that,” as Charlie finished his sentence, to which the surprised host said: “Okay,” and let her take the newspaper from him.

Charlie ran through alternative ways to cook your egg perfectly

This comes after Naga was caught rolling her eyes at Charlie during Thursday’s episode as he shared a story he thought viewers might like.

He said: “I’m just slightly drawn to this, Volvo. I think this announcement actually happened yesterday.

“Volvo announced that they’re no longer going to make Estate cars. The Volvo Estate is kind of one of those things.

Naga grabbed the paper from Charlie’s hand as she ended the segment

Naga chimed in: “It’s iconic,” as Charlie continued: “You have Volvo Estate cars, everything’s OK in the world. I’m exaggerating, obviously, but-” as she replied: “Offer some reassurance!”

Charlie continued with the story before he eventually said: “I think I’ve explained that very well, haven’t I? So, let me try again.”

Naga was then seen rolling her eyes as Charlie started telling the story from the beginning.

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC.
