One star of Discovery reality show Naked And Afraid: Castaways was left freaking out on the forest floor as he discovered a horror parasite had attached itself to his penis.
Andrew Shayde was filming the new programme, which sees naked contestants compete to see who can survive the longest in the wilderness without any clothes, when a tick burrowed into his prize jewels.
In a video obtained by TMZ, Andrew was waking up from a rough night in the woods to find ticks on his most intimate areas, exclaiming: “I have two on my penis!” – before recounting and upping that number to five.

He went on to admit that the ticks also crawled into his “butt crack” – while co-star Patrick French escaped with ticks between his legs, but avoiding the “prime real estate”.
Andrew told cameras: “I woke up this morning with five ticks on my little castaway. Knowing my history with ticks in my best challenges, this is definitely freaking me out.”
A flashback video saw medics frantically trying to free the ticks from Andrew’s bum in a previous challenge as he screamed for mercy.
He admitted: “Last night was a full assault. It was terrible.”
While one of his female co-stars joked: “It was one ex-mother-in-law away from my worst nightmare.”
And it’s not just the fear of waking up with ticks crawling in your genitals that poses a risk – if untreated, tick bites can lead to Lyme disease, a bacterial infection.
Between circular rashes and loss of energy, Lyme disease can also cause muscle pain and fever.
Not all ticks carry the bacteria – but plenty do.

In the new series, available to stream on Discovery+, nine survivalists are stranded on an island with no tools and no map – but they do have wreckage left strewn across the island to help forge their own tools.
The official synopsis for the show reads: “In teams of three, they must swim to different ecosystems on the same island – sun-scorched beach, twisted mangrove swamp and dense jungle – to begin their distinct survival journeys.
“They must use only their navigational skills and fashion everything they need to survive from wreckage and debris strewn across the island.”
