Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone looked unrecognisable this week as she was snapped for the first time on the set of her latest movie.
The 34-year old, who scooped the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Mia Dolan in 2017’s La La Land, has landed a role of ‘female Frankenstein’, in a dramatic revamp of the Mary Shelley classic story.
Although naturally blonde, the Arizona-born star is well-known as a redhead.

However, a newly-released pic from the filming of Poor Things – an adaption of Alasdair Gray’s Frankenstein-influenced 1992 novel of the same name – shows the Cruella actress donning a long, jet black wig.
Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, Emma plays Bella Baxter, an “oversexed and volatile” character, who is brought back to life by Dr Godwin Baxter – played by American Psycho star, Willem Dafoe.
Emma previously worked with Lanthimos on The Favourite in 2018.
Earlier this month, meanwhile, Emma revealed that filming Easy A turned out to be a life-changing experience for her.
Whilst shooting a scene in which her character Olive Penderghast simulates having sex, she suffered an asthma attack.
She said: “I had a little asthma attack, without any prior knowledge that I had asthma, during the scene where we had to jump up and down for hours and hours screaming and yelling on the bed,” Stone revealed to MTV during the film’s promotion.

“Oh, for the love, I can’t even simulate sex without dying!”
Stone recalled the incident as “humiliating” as it happened early on in production, with her subsequently fearing the entire crew would judge her, much like in high school.
“[It] was humiliating, because it was the second day of shooting,” Stone explained.
“Here’s what it’s going to be like the whole movie, as I’m breathing into an oxygen tank. The crew was like, ‘She’s going to be a real blast. Wow. Amazing. A 20-year-old having an asthma attack’.”
Poor Things, which also stars also stars Mark Ruffalo and Margaret Qualley, is set to hit cinemas on September 8.
