Paige Thorne regrets saying one Love Island couple were ‘fake’ after Adam Collard split

Paige Thorne confessed she regrets hinting that one Love Island couple were faking their relationship on the ITV2 dating show.

Back in October, the Welsh paramedic hinted on the Saving Grace podcast that one pair from last year’s series were wrapped up in a “showmance” when asked which of the remaining couples she believed were fake.

But months later the 24-year-old reality star retracted her comments after she admitted that she was feeling “hella b***hy” at the time after finding herself in a “really low place” mentally.

Her cruel comments were made around the same time that the brunette beauty announced her split from ex-boyfriend Adam Collard after she accused him of cheating on her with other girls following a wild night out.

In a recent interview with Her magazine, the key worker explained how she had been struggling with her mental health when she went on the eye-opening podcast.

She told the publication: “When I did that podcast, I was in a really low place and I was feeling hella b***hy, and I just took it out on everything around me, which showed.

“It wasn’t the best side of my character but I had heard some news that it’s not all as it seems and I was in my little b***hy mood.”

Just months after the brunette beauty left the villa, Paige was asked on the Saving Grace podcast: “Who is the fakest couple to come out of Love Island this year?”

At the time, Paige revealed: “All I’m gonna say on this is, wait how many couples are left now? Three?

“Really there’s only two. But that’s a secret I’ll never tell,” she teased.

Rumours them swarmed around the remaining couples as fans desperately attempted to work out who was the “fake” couple still performing their relationship to Love Island fans after the ITV2 show ended.

The couples still together at the time were Gemma Owen and Luca Bish, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti, Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page and Demi Hope and Indiyah Polack – however Gemma and Luca have since gone their separate ways.

When Paige’s comments hit the headlines, the showbiz couple were quick to deny any trouble in paradise, with a source close to the couple.

The insider told The Mirror at the time: “There is lots of talk and rumours about a showmance amongst this year’s contestants but it certainly isn’t Luca and Gemma that everyone is talking about.

“Luca and Gemma are closer than ever, they don’t feel the need to ham it up on social media everyday.”
