Paul Cattermole video performing poignant S Club 7 hit resurfaces after tragic death

A video of Paul Cattermole performing an acoustic version of one of S Club 7’s hits has resurfaced following the singer’s death.

Paul, 47, was found dead at his Dorset Home on April 6, 2023 – just weeks before he was due to head out for a reunion tour with his S Club 7 bandmates.

Following his death, a video of the singer has resurfaced that shows Paul playing a stripped back version of the group’s hit single Reach.

In the video, Paul strums a guitar and sings a slower-paced version of the song for his fellow cast members in the theatre production, The Rocky Horror Show.

Paul starred as Eddie and Dr. Scott in the beloved musical between 2015 to 2016.

The Rocky Horror Show paid tribute to Paul in a tweet alongside the video on their official social media account, saying: “Today we remember Paul Cattermole, who played the roles of Eddie and Dr. Scott in The Rocky Horror Show between 2015 and 2016. He will always be a part of the Rocky Horror family!”

The Rocky Horror Show musical Facebook page also paid a heartfelt tribute to the star in a statement, describing Paul as “humble, kind and gentle.”

“Paul was a treasured cast member and we’ll always remember him as an incredibly humble, kind and gentle man. We’re grateful for the memories he gave us on and off the stage,” the statement read.

“Rest in peace, Paul – you’ll always be a part of the Rocky Horror family. Here he is giving us an impromptu version of Reach For the Stars, one night after the show.”

Paul’s death was announced in a statement by his friends and family yesterday, with tributes continuing to pour in from fans and friends for the star.

A statement from the band read: “We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.

“He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time.”

Tributes have been shared on social media following the news, with Kerry Katona sharing a snapshot of an article about Paul’s shocking death saying: “This is absolutely heartbreaking, my thoughts are with his loved ones.”

Actress Sheridan Smith, who was a member of the National Youth Theatre alongside Paul, shared a snap of Paul in his younger years, writing: “Devastated beyond words.”

She went on: “We all grew up together in the NYMT then all lived together for years.”
